Farm Membership
A farm membership will be a way to help the farm get started at the beginning of each year by providing some funding (during the slow season), and will also provide you with several exclusive benefits! Memberships renew annually.
Members Benefits:
Early Access to inventory - Members will get 1 week advanced access to all new meat inventory, so you’ll have the most options and the freshest product.
Pre-order - reserve what you know you want in advance, guaranteeing that you’ll be the first to receive!
Subscriptions - additional subscription offerings will be available to the members only page. This means MORE egg, meat, and farm box subscriptions will be exclusively available to members. Member subscriptions are always given priority in the event of an iventory shortage. This will not affect existing subscriptions.
Meat boxes - an offering just debuted on our member’s shopping site at a reduced rate. These boxes will be flexible to fit the size of your family as well as your meat preferences. They will be available as single purchase and subscription options - and offer a great savings!
Custom Cut Requests - our member’s will be able to submit special requests for us to take to the butcher. Have a favorite family recipe that you can never find the right cut for at the grocery store? Want to ensure you have a Hood Family Farms Prime Rib Roast for next Christmas? We can help!
Complimentary Farm Day - we know that those of you likely to become farm members are also those of you who REALLY want to know where your food comes from and how it was raised. We always welcome customers out to the farm, but for members we invite you to make a day of it! Spend time seeing exactly how the animals are fed, moved, and treated on a daily basis. Get your hands a little dirty while letting us explain the reasons behind our choices, the impact each decision has on our the soil health and farm biodiversity. Bring the whole family!
Surplus produce - we do not run a large produce operation, but occasionally we do have extra available beyond what we use to can/pickle/jam/cook with. This year, we sold the extra at farmer’s markets, donated it, or gave it away. Now, we will list it on our member’s only page to give you first dibs on delicious freshly-picked chemical free produce.
Low inventory items - as seasons wind down and stock levels become tight, we will stock our member site first giving you premium access for the longest time period possible (think of eggs, ground beef, chicken breast or pickles this year!).
Specialty items - we may request from our meat processors or create in the kitchen, specialty items that are very limited in quantity either because they are so rare/prized or so labor intensive to create (think of Denver, Bavette, and Oyster steaks. Or how about fresh tomato jam, or Mom’s delicious orange, almond, and cranberry curd cake).
Even more special than the other perks, is that being a farm member, really means you’re aiding in the stewardship of the land, and directly impacting the quality of the food you consume. Pretty Cool!
